Its been almost 3 days now since I deleted my facebook account and I feel really proud to say that I dont miss anything. On the contrary, it proved to be a huge win for me in my strife against my own ever-procrastinating-improvident self. It can be sometimes difficult to come to terms with the realizations that a single thought or an idea brings in, at two different phases of our life. The details may vary, what remains consistent is the essence. Maybe it has something to do with the state of mind, the so-called maturity level, the economic conditions, the social circle, the family, work or health or maybe none of these. Maybe it does not even happen to everyone but I think those would be quite a small percentage of the lot. For me the time came about a couple of weeks back when somethings did hit me real hard, and I decided to give a bit of time to sort those out and clear my head as to what it all meant and where I was supposed to proceed next after that. I wont go into the specifics but all I can say is that I never imagined what half a year of work will make me realise. But I guess its not too late to start over and start good and so I decided to kick off that very weekend. Started off by getting myself involved in building some android apps, and can say now that wading through those api's was the toughest thing I have ever done. At every point of time I was wondering where is the easy pathert, as claimed by the developers until I came across a nice blog which explained how designing apps for mobile platforms is THE most tricky things ever and how this is all a marketing ploy to rope in the consumers. It presented a short study over this and after a couple of stern warnings and cautionary notes, the tutorial commenced. Its my second weekend spent over developing apps on the couple of ideas I have but I think its going to take some more weekends to finally get conversant with the whole thing.
This weekend started off well, with friday becoming an unofficial holiday and my grabbing a nice nap in the office. Next morning was a disaster, with one lesson duly learnt. Dont go to see just any movie. For the sake of my own reputation, I wont mention the name here. Rest of the day and the next one went into trying to get a darn widget working, which is still in a pickle, and I am right now at the mercy of some help from forums. Anyways, plans for next week include at least setting up a 'hello' page for my website :P and maybe a bit more, if possible. Will try to keep this space updated, hopefully not with technical stuff.
